Week 28: How’s it going?

August 18, 2014 by Monica | 2 Comments

Hello there lovelies,

It’s mid-August. Children across the country are returning to school or have returned already. Summer’s swan song is just a few days over a month away, and we are on the down hill side of another year.

With this writing, I’ve published 28 posts in the 52 Weeks to Be Completely You series, this year. Besides being a little behind schedule, I feel pretty good about the series. My goal with this series is to encourage and inspire you and me to embrace the beautiful complexity of being our unique selves with confidence. A cake walk for some, muscle building exercise for others.

At the end of the day, embracing your true self is a rewarding process, because after all, no one can do a better job at being you than you can. And you certainly won’t do nearly as great a job at being someone other than just yourself.

So, this week I’d love to hear from you.

What do you think about the series thus far?

Have you read anything helpful?

What’s been your favorite post(s)?

Which post could you most/least identify with?

Is there a topic you’d like to read about that I haven’t addressed? Or one you’d like to discuss some more?

What does being completely you mean in your life?

So far, this has been quite a fun journey for me, and I’m so glad you’ve been here to share it with me. Whether I’m sharing tips and lessons learned or just sharing a bit about myself, I’m loving every minute of it.

See you next week.

I’m loving your series so far Monica. It is refreshing to be encouraged each week through your blog. Each post has been helpful, either teaching me something brand new or giving an insight I hadn’t thought of before. Some of my favorite posts have been: Be Honest, 6 Baby Steps to a More Authentic You and Learning to S.O.A.R.E., just to name a few. I think I most identify with “Stand Up to Your Giant”, in terms of my health journey.
A topic that I would like to read more about is regaining hope.
At this point in my journey, being completely me means recognizing that I am good enough, and staying true to that. As I continue to grow I think that the meaning will change.
Thank you so much for doing this! I am looking forward to your posts throughout the rest of the year 🙂

Hi there Courtney, and thank you. You’ve certainly been a great part of my motivation to keep going, knowing you were out there sharing the journey with me. Like you, “Stand Up to Your Giant” seems to be a theme in my life these days, and not just when it comes to healthy eating. I’m seeing it play out in other areas of life, and it’s actually kinda cool. I love how you said you’re recognizing that you’re good enough. I’ve actually considered incorporating “because you’re good enough” as the tagline for this site, because that’s the message I want women to get. We’re valuable, even with our flaws, because we will always be flawed. But there’s so much beauty in being a work in progress. It’s amazing to watch a work of art transform into the finished product isn’t it? Although we will never be “finished” this side of heaven, we can be complete in Christ and be transformed daily. And the progress will be visible to us and to those watching us. And it will be BEAUTIFUL! Again thanks for joining me Courtney. It’s truly an honor to have you here. 🙂 Be Completely You, sweet girl, because you ARE good enough.
