“Do you understand the words that are comin’ out of my mouth?”
17 years later this clip from the movie Rush Hour still makes me laugh.
Making the connection
Today, the number of social media platforms and technological advancements that allow us to connect with family, friends (old and new) and even strangers is ever-increasing. Blog sites still provide a meaningful community for writers, entertainers and major consumer brands to create and maintain a useful connection with readers and fans. Yet, although Jackie Chan was just yanking Chris Tucker’s chain in this scene, we’ve all had experiences where we wonder whether or not we’ve really made the connection.
“…do people generally understand what you’re trying to say?”
Now that’s a good question. It, also, happens to be the prompt that kicks off July’s National Blog Posting Month (NaBloPoMo). The theme for this month’s NaBloPoMo is CONNECT.
Read the fine print.
Now, I’ve never participated in a NaBloPoMo, and I’m not sure how far I’ll get (especially since this post is two days late). But I decided to jump into this one and just see how things go.
In the meantime, if you want to follow the posts and let me know if you really get what I’m trying to say, please feel free to do so.
Until next time.
