The content connection

Well, I’m back.

It’s day eight of NaBloPoMo, and my goal today is simple – post before midnight. This one is pretty easy.

What do you think makes people connect with a post or a blog in general?

You’ve seen it happen. Out of the blue, a debut track by some newbie recording artist soars to the top of the music charts and reigns for weeks. Why the song becomes all the rage is anyone’s guess. Was it the music? Was it the lyrics? Pose the question to anyone and the response will be one, the other and both.

I think people connect to blogs and blog posts kinda the same reason. Content. Whether it’s weekly video posts, podcasts, amazing photos, words that inspire or just practical topics that speak to some aspect of daily life, content is what makes people connect.

Personally, I’m a fan of blogs about writing, speaking, book publishing, healthy eating, relationships or fashion. I especially love an inspirational read that encourages personal development or strengthens my faith. Oh, and it helps if the blog space makes my eyes dance. That’s where photography and fashion blogs come in or just blogs that are beautifully designed. I

Here are a few blogs I connect with:

BlogHer (of course)

Lysa Terkeurst

Next Step Speaker Services

Goins Writer

Michael Hyatt

Ashley Brooke Designs

Carrots ‘N’ Cake

So what’s your take? What makes you connect to a blog or blog post?
